On January 24, Consul General Zha Liyou paid a visit to Mr.D.C.D. Dass, Deputy Director General of Protocol Department of Indian External Affairs Ministry in Delhi. Mr.Chen Binghuang , Counsellor and Consul General of the Chinese embassy in India was present.

Mr.Zha presented the Consular Commission to Mr.Dass, expressing his pleasure to assume the post of the fifth Consul General of China in Kolkata and thanking the Protocol Department for its support to his work. He said, as China-India relations entered a fast track, hope the Protocol Department continue to support the Consulate General and make joint efforts to promote in-depth exchanges and practical cooperation in various fields between Chinese provinces and five eastern Indian states.

Mr.Dass welcomed the appointment of the Consul General and expressed his willingness to support the Chinese Consulate General in Kolkata to push forward the exchanges between east India and China.
