Consul General Zha Liyou Attends Conclusion Ceremony of SAI Training Course

On January 31, Consul General Zha Liyou was invited as the Chief Guest to attend the closing ceremony of the coach certification course held by Sports Authority of India (SAI) under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. More than 200 people attended the event, including Manmeet Singh Goindi, Director of SAI Eastern Branch, Kalyan Chaudhuri, Academic Director of Sports Science, Bibhuti Bhushan Kumar, Regional Passport Officer of the Ministry of External Affairs, as well as coaches and training course participants and people from sports circles.

Mr. Zha Liyou made a speech at the invitation, expressing his great pleasure to attend the graduation ceremony and congratulating the coaches on receiving qualification certificates. He pointed out that in the past year, President Xi Jinping and Prime Minister Modi met four times and reached important consensus on the development of China-India relations. In December 2018, H.E.Mr.Wang Yi, China's state Councilor and Foreign Minister, and Indian Foreign Minister Swahili Raj co-chaired the first meeting of Sino-Indian high-level cultural exchange mechanism. The two sides agreed to work on cultural exchange and cultural relics protection, education, tourism cooperation and language teaching cooperation and personnel exchanges, youth exchange and sports communication, media and public opinion environment, academic exchanges and cooperation with producers, and other areas as priority for the next stage of cultural exchanges. The Consulate General will actively promote the friendly cooperation between Chinese and eastern India in sports training, sports science research and other fields, and implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries.

Mr. Goindi thanked Consul General Zha Liyou for attending the event, briefed him on the training program and the training center, and expressed his expectation to continue strengthening contacts and exchanges with China in the field of sports.

Mr Zha and other guests presented 25 coaches with qualification certificates. After that, they visited the training places of gymnastics, shooting, track, hockey and took photos with some coaches and athletes.
