Consul General Xu Wei visits Jharkhand

On 15th_16th November, 2024, Consul General Xu Wei visited Jharkhand and met with local businessmen and inspected the projects of Chinese-invested companies in Jharkhand.


    Onthe 15th, CG Xu paid a visit to the Federation of Jharkhand Chamber of Commerce & Industries(FJCCI) and exchanged views in depth on strengthening economic and trade cooperation between the two sides with the President Paresh Gattani, Vice President Jyoti Kumari, Secretary General Aditya Malhotra and Joint Secretary Vikash Vijaywargia. CG Xu said that China and India are important neighbours to each other and are both large developing countries and emerging economies, playing an important role in promoting global economic growth. Jharkhand is renowned for its rich mineral resources and has a good foundation in agriculture and forestry. Chinese Consulate General is willing to serve as a bridge in connecting Jharkhand with China to fully explore the potential for cooperation. President Gatani welcomed CG Xu's visit and expressed his willingness to further strengthen economic and trade cooperation with China with the support of Chinese Consulate General.


    On 16th, CG Xu and his entourage drove four hours to Chaibasa in southern Jharkhand to inspect the integrated steel plant project constructed by Metallurgical Corporation of China(MCC) for Rungta Mines Limited(RML). CG Xu had a friendly talk with all the Chinese technicians of the project, and inspected the operation of the equipment on the spot accompanied by the Chinese and Indian project managers. He highly commended the close cooperation between RML and MCC, and requested the Chinese company to put safety in the first place, always keep safety and quality in check, and build up a good image of Chinese enterprises.
