Consul General Xu Wei visited Sister Nivedita University

On November 26, 2024, Consul General Xu Wei was invited to visit Sister Nivedita University, a subsidiary of TechnoIndia Group. He met with Vice Chancellor, Prof. Dhrubajyoti Chhattopadhyay and CEO of the Group, Dr. Sanku Bose, and held a discussion with the university's management team and some teachers and students. Consul General Xu also visited the campus and teaching facilities and interacted with young students.

In his speech, Consul General Xu promoted the three Global Initiatives and the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind. He said that education is the cornerstone of human civilization and development, and countries should learn from each other to achieve common development. Consul General Xu introduced China's main practices of international exchanges and cooperation in education and the latest achievements in promoting Chinese education overseas. There exists an educational cooperation and exchange mechanism between China and India, and he believes that the two countries have broad prospects for cooperation in Chinese language education, vocational education and medical education. The Consulate General is willing to actively discuss future cooperation between the two sides and support the university to hold celebrations for the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and India. During the event, representatives of teachers and students excitedly shared their unforgettable experience of participating in the BRICS Skills Competition in Shandong province, China, and expressed their willingness to contribute more to the exchanges and mutual understanding between the youth of the two countries.

Sister Nivedita University is a comprehensive university with 11,000 students in Kolkata. It is named after the female disciple of Indian philosopher Swami Vivekananda. The university has master's and doctoral degree programs. The School of International Languages offers Chinese courses.
