Consul General Xu Wei meets with Vandana Yadav Principal Secretary of the Department of Commerce, Industry& Enterprises of the State Government of West Bengal

    On December 18, 2024, Chinese Consul General Xu Wei met with Vandana Yadav, the Principal Secretary of the Department of Commerce, Industry& Enterprises, State Government of West Bengal and the Managing Director of West Bengal Industrial Development Corporation (WBIDC).


    Consul General Xu said that China and India, as the world's largest developing countries and emerging economies, share the common vision of development. China-India relationship is currently facing new development opportunity. The Chinese and Indian economies are highly complementary. China is willing to maintain close economic and trade cooperation with India, and welcome more high-quality Indian products into Chinese market. Chinese Consulate General is willing to help enterprises, chambers of commerce and all kinds of institutions of the two countries to strengthen exchanges, exploring more potential in business cooperation.

    Yadav said that West Bengal has a natural geographical advantage in developing cooperation with China, and has great potential in cooperation in manufacturing, agriculture and other fields. Government of West Bengal stands ready for more closer local exchanges and cooperation between India and China. Yadav also briefed Consul General Xu about the 8th Bengal Global Business Summit (BGBS), which will be held from February 5 to 6, 2025, saying that BGBS is the most important platform for West Bengal to showcase its investment environment and for enterprises to expand their markets in East India. More than 15 countries are expected to participate the summit. Yadav welcomed Consul General Xu to lead Chinese enterprises in India to participate BGBS.
