On 6 August 2026, Consul General Xu Wei visited CRRC(China Railway Rolling Stock Corporation ) India Private Limited in Kolkata. He received a briefing on project progress and met with Mr. Umesh Chaudhary, Managing Director of Titagarh Rail Systems Limited, CRRC’s local partner. During the visit, Consul General Xu Wei toured the metro coach final assembly line and conveyed his greetings to all members of the Chinese project team.

Consul General Xu commended CRRC India Private Limited for pressing ahead despite various challenges, and highlighted how its delivery underscores “China speed” and quality. He encouraged the project team to further elevate management standards, enhance compliance awareness in daily operations, strengthen the credibility of Chinese enterprises. He emphasized that such efforts would make further contributions to China-India friendship and practical cooperation. CRRC India Private Limited operates under a cooperation framework between Nanjing Puzhen Rolling Stock Co., Ltd. and Kolkata-headquartered Titagarh Rail Systems Limited.It is responsible for manufacturing coaches for the Bangalore Metro Phase II.
